Continuing education programs at Capri College in Iowa are an excellent opportunity for licensed cosmetologists, estheticians, massage therapists, and nail technicians. Besides meeting the required amount of continuing education hours for the state licensure laws, our programs teach new and advanced beauty skills and introduce professionals to services that they did not learn in their previous educational programs. Continuing Education Policies

Continuing education has some specific requirements, including:

Continuing education renewals must be received in the State Office by March 31
Replacement fee for a lost continuing education certificate is $10
No refunds for continuing education programs unless we are notified one week in advance
The registration fee is transferable to another scheduled class if we are advised in advance

Meet the State’s Continuing Education Requirements

According to Iowa Law, licensed cosmetologists, nail technicians, and estheticians are required to complete a minimum of six hours of continuing education every two years. A minimum of four hours (from the total six) must be in your licensed discipline, and a minimum of two hours must be in Iowa Laws & Sanitation.

Licensed massage therapists in Iowa are required to complete a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education every two years.

Capri College offers continuing education classes two times a year, around February and October, so be sure to check back for current listings.

Will I get a certificate of completion after attending one of your courses?

Yes, we provide each individual who completes our continuing education courses with a certificate of completion, which can count as proof for State licensing continuing education requirements.

How do I complete the required two hours of State Law continuing education?

There are online courses available that are not affiliated with Capri College. You can take the State Law test to renew your Iowa Law certification.
