Improve Health and Well-Being with Professional Massage Skills

Do you enjoy helping others feel better by giving them a relaxing massage? Increase the number of people you could help by taking the massage therapy program at Capri College! Not only could you get hands-on training in our student spa area, you could also learn multiple massage modalities, such as deep tissue massage, sports massage, and how to use hot stones. Massage therapy is an ancient art, but it is also fast-evolving in the beauty industry.

We provide our students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience they need to work confidently and pursue a dream career as a massage therapist. The 600-hour massage therapy program is available at all four of our Iowa campuses, and it can be completed in as little as 26 weeks. Get started on the enrollment process right now!

Practice Techniques on Real Clients in a Professional Clinic Setting

Massage therapy is a hands-on profession, so your education should be hands-on. Our experienced instructors teach different massage strokes, how to understand the various body systems, and how to palpate muscles to perform the art of massage.

As part of the program, students study diseases of the human body and when massage could be helpful and when it could be harmful. While there will be classroom work and instructor demonstrations, students spend many valuable hours working in the student spa area. This is an open-to-the-public clinic where students can practice their skills and techniques on real clients under the direct supervision of licensed instructors.

Visiting one of our four Iowa campuses is one of the most exciting parts of the enrollment process. Contact us, and we can schedule a personalized tour of the school, so you can see and experience the classrooms and student salon and spa area. You can meet instructors and current students, see what a beauty education is like, and feel the family-like atmosphere of Capri College.

As part of your tour, we will interview you to learn more about your educational goals. This is a great time to ask questions, gather enrollment information, and start putting your plan into action!

I was a student at Capri and graduated last year. My instructors were all so supportive and kind and always there for us not just with school stuff but personal too. (The amount of times I cried in Surps office cuz I was having a bad day and she never ever made me feel bad for it and would let me sit there and talk to her until I felt better) Capri is not just about beauty, it’s about building lasting friendships and learning about yourself! 🫶🏻The beauty industry is literally billions of dollars and we can ALL be successful and Capri helped show us that!!!

Cheyenne L.

I graduated from Capri almost 2 years from the cosmetology program and Capri definitely set me up for success with all the knowledge my instructors had and passed down to me! If you are interested in going to cosmetology school I highly recommend Capri College in Waterloo 😊

Career Opportunities for Massage Therapists

A licensed massage therapist could pursue a variety of careers that help others relax, reduce stress, relieve pain, and heal faster. For example, massage therapists can work in healthcare facilities, chiropractic offices, and physical fitness spas. They can be found in cosmetology salons and beauty spas. Many high-end hotels, resorts, and cruise ships hire massage therapists to provide their services to guests. Some massage therapists concentrate on a unique set of clientele, such as pregnant women and infants, or people under the care of hospice. Entrepreneurs could open and operate their own massage therapy clinic.

At Capri College, we help our students achieve their educational and career goals by teaching the skills that the current industry demands, preparing students to take for the State Exam, and providing career services. We cannot guarantee employment, but many of our students go on to do what they love.
